Thank you Rita Springer

I'm a few months late to the party, but "Battles" is wrecking me in all the best ways at just the right time. Every single song is strengthening my resolve to keep going and not give up.

My hubby and I are 5.5 years into a heart-breaking infertility struggle, with doctors and specialists saying they don't have any answers. In faith, we keep taking steps forward in the pursuit of starting our family. We're open to whatever that might look like, and we've been given a promise that has kept us hopeful with each setback. But after yet another blow a few weeks ago, I wrote this prayer in my journal: "Lord I need to hear a fresh word from you. I need more. If I am to keep going I need another piece of encouragement designed by You to give me hope." He answered that heart cry twice that day, including coming across this album around midnight.

These lyrics from "Never Lost" echo some very specific words spoken over my life, as well as some words I've been called to sing at Highpoint Church in a song called "To Be Honest". They were absolute confirmation and reassurance that He sees and hears me. When I realized how beautifully He'd answered my prayer, all I could do was weep and shake my head in awe of Him.

He is my faithful Father, calling me out of the dark
Night cannot whisper away what He said in the light
He is my firm foundation, my anchor won't be moved
Storms may collide but my soul is on fire with His word

My Jesus, interceding on my behalf to the Father. My Father bending low to meet my frailty through the Holy Spirit. Thank you Rita Springer, for being a part of that moment for me and for writing songs that help fix my gaze on the One who is with me in every battle.
